According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), approximately 390,000 dogs are euthanized annually in U.S. shelters. This averages to about 1,068 dogs per day.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) reported in its 2023 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report that, on average, more than 17 veterans died by suicide each day in 2021.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense’s Rehabilitation Department oversees the care of approximately 50,000 disabled veterans, which includes those wounded in action. Since the October 7 massacre, more than 12,000 Israeli soldiers  sustained injuries during their service. This figure includes both physical and psychological injuries.
