Is this a service dog program, therapy dog program, or emotional support animal program?+

Applicants

How does the process start?+

The process starts with an initial inquiry or pre-screening form. This helps the team understand who is applying, what type of support is being requested, and whether Pawz4Heroes may be an appropriate fit.

Does pre-screening guarantee approval?+

No. Pre-screening is the first review step. It does not guarantee approval, placement, or acceptance into the program. It only helps determine possible eligibility and fit.

Do I need medical documents right now?+

Not necessarily at the first step. Basic information may be enough to begin pre-screening. Medical, clinical, military, or referral documentation may be requested later if the application moves forward.

What happens after I submit?+

The Pawz4Heroes team reviews the information. If the request appears to match the mission and capacity, the team may contact the applicant for additional questions, documentation, interviews, or next steps.

How long does the process take?+

The timeline can vary. Matching, training, and placing a dog is a serious process and may take months or longer, depending on the applicant’s needs, dog availability, training requirements, funding, location, and program capacity.

Is there a cost?+

Pawz4Heroes provides professionally trained service dogs at no cost to wounded Israeli and American military veterans, civilians affected by terrorism, and therapy groups in need of canine support. Final cost details should always be confirmed directly with the team during the application process.

Who reviews my information?+

Information is reviewed by the Pawz4Heroes team and appropriate professionals or advisors involved in the screening, training, clinical, or placement process.
